Mallory and Bennett have a little attitude problem standing between them—and about $20,000’s worth of flowers. She’s the florist/wedding planner, he’s the brother of the bride and the one footing the bill. It’s a modern-day fiasco where you’re never quite sure who’s too proud and who’s too prejudiced.

And the bride’s name? Why, it’s Pemberly, of course.

I enjoyed this Christmas romance. I am a big fan of this author's Regencies, but hadn't previously ventured into her other works (although a few have been lined up on my Kindle for ages). This story was fun and felt very fairy-talesque to me. There were some great details from the floral industry and I would love to have seen the amazing wedding reception the heroine was planning. Most e-books seem to have editing errors, but I only noticed a couple and they did not detract from the story. It was a quick read for the festive season. I love a good epilogue that really makes me feel that the characters are settled into their HEA. The story is pretty clean, but romantic.

I did feel that there were a few drawbacks to the book. I don't know what the definitive number of words or pages is that separates a novel from a novella...but this very clearly felt like a novella to me. That may have been the author's intention, although I have also read several novellas where I felt totally satisfied that all the information that I needed was there. I just felt that there was a lot of room to flesh out the hero. He was just this perfect outer package that I never really invested in. Perhaps that was somewhat by design, as the heroine's insecurities and doubts were inspired by his outward perfection, but even by the end I really had a very minor taste of the hero as a person. The heroine's POV really drove this story and I've come to realise that I tend to like more insight into both main characters. There probably could have been a little more about the heroine too...although I didn't really miss it. It was some time after I finished the story before it occurred to me that the reader is never given much detail about what the heroine actually looks like, for instance. (As an aside, there were a few touches here and there that left me with some questions about the heroine, but I don't want to box this story in...particularly when it has been handled so adeptly by the author...so I won't get specific. Readers who know what I'm talking about will just KNOW, and everyone else will just say, "Huh?") There was one further area of issue for me, although some people will not care. Frequent readers of Regencies become inured to the common, relatively mild (although I suppose it depends on one's perspective) curses that are often used, mainly by the male characters. Of course this isn't a Regency, but as I am used to this author's Regencies, it was an unpleasant surprise to me to find a little more coarse language in this story than I expected. There's not a lot, but it is there.

I would definitely recommend this as an easy and enjoyable holiday read. Once again this author has confirmed my belief that she is very skilled at bringing her stories and characters to life. She blends in humour and whimsy effortlessly. In her stories I have yet to encounter a humourous element that feels contrived or as if it is "trying too hard". I have to admit that I am beginning to think she has some sort of magic pen that helps her create lovely and memorable romantic scenes. It's hard to remember how few of her books I have read, as I remember them so vividly...far more than some prolific authors whose books I have read by the dozens.

P.S. Love the cover!

Kiss This A Holiday Romance Kisses and Carriages Book 2 edition by LL Muir Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

oh for heavens sake, if L.L. Muir wrote it it is great grand and intriguing and you hate when it is over.
Loved it.
I loved this fun story! The dynamics between Bennett and Mallory were great. The setting was beautiful, and I'm a sucker for stories that have anything to do with flowers and weddings. If you're looking for a light-hearted, funny read, grab "Kiss This" and enjoy!
What a cute story. I really liked the characters and the plot of this book. This author is thoroughly enjoyable. Can't wait to read the next book.
After reading all of this author's historical books, I was disappointed in this one. It had the element of paranormal like her others but it didn't work for me this time. I found the H to be too emotional and he expected way too much of the h. I loathed the ending where the h has to run around after him. He behaved liked a hormonal teenager. Skip this one and rather read one of this author's other books.
Lord Bennett no Lord Darcy what a lovely story of dreams and wishes and all good things by two great authors. Inspired by Jane Austen and written by L.l. Muir a combination that can't go wrong.
As all L L Muir books, this is a 5 star read. Once I started I couldn't stop. With a smile on my face all through the book. Great read for anyone who loves romance. Although there were hints of book one I keep waiting but I guess that's why we have an imagination!
